Our Institute has its own culture and way of life. What better way to judge the same, than to have a view of one of the participants' 24 hour routine (if you can call it that, considering the extreme variations). The Institute offers tremendous ways to get involved in campus life.
A word of caution before you read on: the description below cannot be generalized to all candidates because as is very well said – “We all paint the canvas in our very own ways? With that in mind, here we go...”

Sports/Games

Even with rigorous academic schedule, SIMCA students find time to play and stay fit. To sustain in this competitive world and to handle the burden of tasks, students need to be physically fit and strong enough. Students have number of opportunities to compete and stay in shape and a huge array to choose from- Cricket, Basketball, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Volleyball. Indoor and brain stimulating games like Table-Tennis, Chess and Computer games are also available.

Gym/Jog

The institute has provided us a state-of-the-art gym. The facilities are open to all students. You have the best opportunity to sweat yourself out. Health is Wealth that is why our students are provided with Gym and other equipment’s.

Value Addition Input
In today's changing and unpredictable world, there is the requirement to be competitive in the corporate domain. So, students in SIMCA are been provided with number of other extracurricular activities which make them to survive and lead in the corporate world. These activities are designed and conducted by the institute. Value Addition Input includes Communication Skills, Personality Development and Discussion on Recent Developments in IT. (This is not included in syllabi). We conduct these activities to make our students aware of recent on going trends in IT and to make students be confidant as well in their actions and personality. Because we all know, “FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE LAST IMPRESSION”

College Teaching

Highly uncertain future can be guessed as it will reward people who are intellectually resilient. So, people who can express their views clearly, can think in the critical way; people who can solve problems and recognize opportunities very skillfully; people who have learned to clinch life innovatively and solicitously, in any of the circumstances they are in.
Budding and fostering such capabilities is the key factor of what we conduct inside SIMCA classrooms and laboratories. College Teaching takes the form of a combination of lecturing, class discussion and practical sessions. The atmosphere is fairly informal, with students encouraged to ask questions and discuss issues.
Right from the first semester of students in the institute, we try to inculcate confidence into them. We give them encouragement and support to learn and understand the courses.

Tea Break
Students are given a time slot as Tea/ Snack Break to refresh themselves after concentrating on the sessions held in classes. This is the time students can enjoy their togetherness and can discuss the sessions held in classrooms. Our cafeteria provides hygienic and delicious snacks.

Lunch Break

Teaching Sessions
Remaining Theory and Practical Sessions are continued with the provided facilities of Computer laboratories and classes. We have given our students provided with well equipped and highly configured Laboratories. They are with good infrastructure and latest configurations. To be technically updated students learn and practice the technologies in the provided labs.

Accordingly, the Library of our institute fasten our academic community to varied technical knowledge and recent innovations and trends by offering number of journals (international journals, business journals, recent developments and technologies updates, developing innovative technologies, and providing an welcoming environment for study, cooperation, and manifestation. Our Library is provided with various News papers, research journals, reference and study books, and additional books of management. We have interaction with our students for betterment and improvement of their knowledge and skills. We assign them some tasks related to their curriculum and subjects to get the perfection in their Knowledge and skills.

Placement Activities
Learning so many technologies and imparting a huge amount of knowledge, are not everything to students’ academic development. Students should be able to implement the knowledge in the better, productive and market required manner. To make the students strong enough to withstand the interviews, they are been trained in formal group discussions, aptitude skills and given with demonstrations of interviews. We conduct all these placement related activities as the finishing touch to our students.

The Students Activities Council (SAC) and various Activity/ Interest Clubs run a fair part of Planet-I’s life. It’s like a true democracy; Of the Participants, By the Participants and For the Participants. We even have our very own miniature elections. Anyways, coming back to the day’s activities... These clubs may keep you engrossed with various guest lectures and events, which stretch across all domains of Information Technology.

Studies
Our teachers play the roles of mentors and tutors, but at last students need to study the courses to match up with the on going curricular subject. You won’t survive the next day’s classes without a little bit of pre-reading. And in case there are any submissions, the earlier you start the better. But then again, many still end up running around the next morning taking printouts. You can’t blame them. There’s so much to do.
